"ASHE '68"

VR Experience

Ashe ’68 is a direct-technique sand animation VR documentary that places the viewer inside Arthur Ashe’s historic, transformative day. Through immersive animation, we witness Ashe’s emergence as both a tennis champion and a voice for social justice on the world stage.
Commissioned by Custom Reality Services, the film marks the first use of direct sand animation in virtual reality. It premiered at the U.S. Open in 2018 and was later presented at Sundance 2019, New Frontiers. More: Ashe '68 Documentary
